Natchez Clay's is a clay teaching studio located in Natchez Mississippi. Pottery classes are held year round covering both wheel-thrown and handbuilt ceramics. Clay workshops are scheduled throughout the year and private instruction is also available. We strive to offer an opportunity for clay artists of all ages including kids and teen clay classes. Our studios include both private and shared studio space for rent. We also hold several pottery ceramic sales at the studio. If you've always loved handmade pottery, you are welcome to join our clay community for a clay class or pottery workshop.

Intermediate class - 6 weeks - $180 / or $100 for shared studio members

Thursdays - 6:00 - 8:30 PM

For both Wheel throwing and Hand building students

Jan 12 - Warm up with Empty Bowls. No charge. We'll get our hands back in the clay, visit, and discuss what forms we would like to see Conner demonstrate during the session.

Class Dates: Thursdays - January 19, February 2, 9 and 23, March1 and 15

Note there are some weeks missed, so mark these on your calendar!

The goal of this class is to help you refine your own work. This is a great opportunity to have time with Conner to discuss any problems or concerns you have about your forms. The class will begin with Conner presenting a demo of a form chosen previously by the class members. After the demo there will be open work time on the wheel or hand building. Conner will be available for the rest of the class period to work individually with class members. You may choose to try the vessel just demonstrated or you can seek Conner's assistance with problems you have with another form you are working on, suggest improvements and help you to look at ways you can make small finishing touches to refine your work.

We are very excited to have Conner back in the studio. This is an excellent opportunity to take a fresh look at your work, where it is going, and discover ways to achieve the results you want.

If you are interested in refining your artwork, this class is for you.

Requirement: Previous hand building experience or ability to throw a cylinder on the wheel.
