Why get all dressed up and put on heels
when you can just come play in the mud?
Here are the 4 steps to having a good time at Natchez Clay:
- Think of 4 or more of your girlfriends you like to hang out with. More than 4 is even better, so round 'em up! Tell anyone who says "no" that we will talk about them if they aren't there.
- Call, text or email the one of you who always arranges your get-togethers. We can call her "Miss Precious Party Planner" or "Miss PPP" for short. She may not necessarily be the most FUN one of the bunch, but she was probably voted "Most likely to be OCD." Now Miss PPP's job is to contact all these girls and come up with a date or two that you could all get together. We generally do Girls Night Out on Thursday nights, but will do Friday if you insist on interrupting our busy social lives. You out-of-town girls can come on a Saturday if you want (and we'll share our special B&B or hotel rates with you.)
- Miss PPP emails me and nicely asks me to send her the registration form to fill out the pertinent info. She and I will chit chat and decide which of your chosen dates works with our busy social lives, and we'll set the date!
- You show up. You ALL show up. Tell "Miss Maybe" that she needs to lay down her bucks and make up her mind, because we don't throw this shindig for less than 4 people. She should also know she will be the FIRST topic of conversation, since her priorities are obviously screwed up if she doesn't want to be with her girls when they are having this much FUN!
We take it from there. We'll show you how to roll out clay or we may pinch, paddle or beat it into a good shape to start with. (You're liking this already aren't you.) Then we'll inspire you with our incredible skills at making those abused clay forms into something beautiful.
How much does this cost? It's ALWAYS about the money isn't it. That's okay because we know there are other important things in life like shoes and massages. But just remember being creative can be just as relaxing as a massage and it doesn't hurt your feet.
Well how much it costs depends on what you want to make. Most of our projects run you $40 for each beautiful head in your group. If you are coming from out of town and want a Saturday party with some extra work time, it's $50. If it's something you want to paint or glaze yourself, you'll need a second visit to do that after it has dried for awhile. Like your nails after a manicure and polish, you don't want to botch it before it is dry. That second visit is gonna cost you a bit more unless you just want to schedule ANOTHER Ladies Night Out, at which time you could make a new project and paint the one you made previously!
So, you see, it is all a scheme to get fun people into our studio, because girls DO just wanna have fun!
