Get your tickets early, because this bi-annual event is always a sellout! Purchasing a $25 ticket entitles you to pick a beautiful bowl handmade by a local potter. We'll fill it with delicious gumbo. Top that off with cornbread and a beverage, and you have a simple meal while you are donating money to the Natchez Community Stewpot.
Eat the gumbo at the Natchez Clay studio or we'll bag it up so you can take it to-go. Either way you get to take home your bowl!
Empty Bowls events are held throughout the world, and millions of dollars have been raised to combat hunger. Let your bowl be a reminder that there are hungry people in our own community that need our help.
To purchase tickets, email us or talk to any of our Natchez Clay studio members.
Join us for a fun week-long hands-on workshop in beautiful Natchez. Daily demos are followed by intense work sessions. Participants are allowed access to the studio after hours, should they wish to continue working into the night.
As a ceramic artist in western North Carolina, Emily Reason make functional pottery that maintains her devotion to quality craftsmanship along with creating visual and tactile beauty. Each piece is thrown on the potter's wheel, altered and trimmed, then carved, decorated and glazed on the surface.
"I am interested in the function of forms and the decorative surface that they lend themselves to. I strive to portray provocative, elegant and classic forms, complimented by glazes evocative of colors found in nature."...Emily Reason

In November our studio was host to over 20 kids for the 1st Kids Christmas Workshop. The kids made their angels and ornaments one day, then returned a week later to paint them in colorful acrylic paints. After a clearcoat of acrylic to seal them, we will put a hanger on each ornament and package them in a gift bag for each child. The gift bags will be delivered to their schools before Christmas.
Our friend, Ben Hillyer, dropped by the studio during one session of the workshop and took some great photos of the kids in action. We were delighted to find them on the front page of the Natchez Democrat the next day. To see Ben's photos click the links below.
Thanks to Ben Hillyer and the Natchez Democrat for their continued support of the arts and for activities for our youth.
