Resident Artist Application Procedure
The application process is ongoing. Apply by sending the following information to Natchez Clay:
- Resume
- Three (3) References; two should have direct knowledge about your clay background and experience.
- A letter describing why you would like to serve as the Resident Artist at Natchez Cay and a brief description of your long-term direction.
- A list of your strengths and why you think you would be a good fit at Natchez Clay.
- What you hope to achieve from a residency at Natchez Clay.
- Images of your work (CD or photos are acceptable).
- Any additional information that could be beneficial in this process.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I apply?
While applications are accepted year round, we will be seriously reviewing them January through April. Our ideal situation is for the accepted applicant to take a brief period of time off after graduation so that they can be at Natchez Clay to work with the outgoing Resident to learn studio procedures in early summer.
What time commitment does the residency require?
The residency position generally requires 20 hours a week
What is the term of Resident Artist position?
The term is two-years, subject to 6- and 12-month reviews for continuance.
